Partner Country 2021

Israel is a start-up nation

The medical technology and digital health sectors are the largest economic sectors in Israel, accounting for over 65% of companies in the country. 91% of life science companies were founded in the last decade, and approximately 38% of the company foundations took place between 2014 and 2016. Today, there are over 1500 active companies, most of which are involved in the development of digital health products. The Israeli government's creation of an appropriate business environment contributed to the start-up boom. In relation to its size, Israel has produced more start-up companies than most other nations. According to the German-Israeli Chamber of Industry and Commerce, there are currently around 8000 start-ups in Israel. Israel has become a major producer of innovative medical technology equipment. Israeli scientists and engineers have used advanced technologies to develop world-class innovations in digital imaging, medical lasers, telemedicine, early diagnostics, smart surgical devices and more.

We are very excited to meet the invited participants from Israel to learn more about how to create a creative and supportive environment for start-ups and exchange experiences in terms of medical innovation.
