The selection of the current conference topic and the presentation of concepts were again characterized by a high level of practical relevance, a scientific evaluation and economic sustainability. The 4th National Conference on Health Economy focused on sustainable prevention measures. The Federal Government's "INFORM" action program for nutrition and exercise was presented by Rolf Schwanitz, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health. The need for preventive measures was recognized in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and presented in the form of a state action plan for health promotion and prevention by Erwin Sellering, Minister for Social Affairs and Health MV. It includes recommendations for action covering the areas of child day-care, school, community and business / work environment. With the topic of exercise and nutrition, we were on the pulse of time and offer ample opportunities for exchanging views and for professional discourse. Both the experts and the general public were interested in the chosen topics.
The official partner country of the conference this year was the Kingdom of Sweden. The Västra Götaland region on the west coast of Sweden is a partner region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In recent years, health concepts for the prevention of overweight and obesity have been developed in Sweden. Professor Björn Fagerberg from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg gave the participants of the National Conference on Health Economy an interesting insight into the development and implementation of the "Action plan to prevent obesity".
