National Conference on Health Economy 2010

Health Ecconomy: Crisis-proof through Quality and Future-proof through Innovation

Overview

Summary

On 2nd and 3rd of June 2010, around 600 players from science, business and politics gathered in Rostock for the 6th National Conference on Health Economy. Interesting workshops and presentations by renowned speakers gave the participants of Germany and abroad numerous new impulses. The topics discussed were quality and innovations in the health economy, especially in the areas of medical technology, health tourism and medical care concepts.

In addition to the keynote speeches and the various forums, a further highlight was the Marketplace Health, in which congress president, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. (mult.) Horst Klinkmann, discussed the topic of organ donation with his invited international experts. Those interested were able to obtain further information on this subject at the information stand.

The cooperation between Denmark and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which has grown over the years, has been further strengthened in the Scanbalt network, the largest European bio-region. The first cooperation in the healthcare economy, such as the cross-border use of air rescue helicopters, is already in place. Together with representatives of the partner country, we want to identify further opportunities for cooperation and perspectives for the healthcare economy in the Baltic Sea region and develop solutions.
